Two views, one source

Read it your way.

Keep the raw Markdown when you are feeding an AI, or switch to a quiet, Notion-inspired reading view when it is for you.

Markdown Web
# A calmer way to read the web

Modern pages carry navigation, banners,
widgets, and scripts around the content
you actually came for.

## Markdown Web keeps the useful part

- Clean headings and paragraphs
- Links preserved as Markdown
- Lists ready to copy
- Code kept readable

Paste the result into your AI tool,
notes, or next prompt.

“AI View” means raw, copy-ready Markdown. Markdown Web does not run an AI model on your page.

The cleanest source wins

Three passes. One readable result.

Markdown Web checks for an existing Markdown version before it extracts anything from the live page.

01 · Accept

Ask for native Markdown

First, the extension requests the current URL with Accept: text/markdown. If the site already provides Markdown, that version is used directly.

02 · Variant

Try the .md route

If the page does not return Markdown, the extension checks the same address with a .md suffix for a clean source.

03 · Extract

Clean the live page

As a fallback, Markdown Web extracts the main article content in your browser and converts it into readable Markdown.

From page to useful context

Less webpage. More signal.

Prompt

Give AI cleaner context

Copy the page as Markdown and paste it into the AI tool you already use.

Read

Remove the page clutter

Switch to Human View for a calm document layout focused on the content.

Reuse

Move text into your workflow

Use copy-ready Markdown in notes, prompts, docs, or any tool that accepts plain text.

Simple by design

No account. No extension backend.

Markdown Web checks the page for a Markdown response, then performs fallback conversion in your browser. It stores your view preferences—not the pages you convert.

Available on the Chrome Web Store

The web reads better in Markdown.

Install Markdown Web from the Chrome Web Store, then use the toolbar icon to turn Markdown mode on across supported pages.
